4Asklepiodoros S.d. Poly- - ein Gesuch im Rat einbrachte
5und dies als berechtigt anerkannt wurde, wolle
6beschließen das Volk: da Asklepiodoros
7ein vortrefflicher Mann war im Kampf gegen
8die Feinde, als er auf der Triere
9des Chares aus dem Demos Aixone segelte, dass man
10ihn belobige und bekränze mit einem Oliven-Kranz
11wegen seiner Tapferkeit und ihn zum
12Festbankett lade in das Prytaneion für morgen;
13dass ihm auch Steuergleichheit sei und seinen
14Nachkommen, die in Athen wohnen, wie den
15anderen mit Steuergleichheit Privilegierten, damit alle
16sehen, die mit den Athenern in den Krieg ziehen,
17dass das Volk die guten Männer ehrt;
18diesen Beschluss soll nach Aufzeichnung
19auf einer steinernen Stele der Sekretär aufstellen
20auf der Akropolis; für die Aufzeichnung
21soll der Schatzmeister des Volkes zwanzig Drachmen
22aus dem Dekret-Fonds des Volkes
23geben. –

4lawful petition which Asklepiodoros son of Poly- of -
5is deemed to have made to the Council,
6the People shall resolve: since Asklepiodoros
7was a good man, fighting against
8the enemy, sailing on the triereme
9of Chares of Aixone, to praise
10him and crown him with a foliage crown
11for his manly virtue and invite him
12to hospitality in the city hall tomorrow;
13and he and his descendants shall have equality of taxation,
14while resident at Athens, like the
15others who have equality of taxation, so that everyone
16who serves on campaign with the Athenians
17may know that the People honours good men;
18and having inscribed this decree
19on a stone stele, let the secretary stand it
20on the acropolis; and for the inscribing
21let the treasurer of the People give twenty drachmas
22from the People’s fund for expenditure on
23decrees. –
